How to brew Vertical Takeoff

Heads up: Vertical Takeoff is 100% Robusta, which means it brews a little differently than the Arabica you're probably used to. Robusta is bolder, more caffeinated (1.5x more with Vertical Takeoff), and thrives under pressure. So the methods that bring out its best are espresso, moka pot, and AeroPress, where you get rich crema and a concentrated punch.

French press works too, but drop your water temperature a touch (around 195°F) to keep the edge soft. If you want a smoother, less bitter version of all that horsepower, run it as cold brew — it's a revelation. We'd skip pour-over and paper-filter drip with this one. It's not what those methods were built for, and you'll get a cleaner result with First Responder if that's how you brew.

A note on Robusta: Most specialty coffee in the U.S. is Arabica. Robusta is its bolder, more caffeinated cousin. It produces dense crema, hits harder, and rewards methods that use pressure or immersion. If your first cup tastes a little off, try a different brewer before you give up on it. It's almost always a method mismatch.
